Deanna’s Classes

Vinyasa

Vinyasa means “to place in a special way”, and in this class, we get into each and every pose in a special way by linking our movement with our breath. Also referred to as “Flow” because of the “flowing” from one pose to the next, Vinyasa is a dynamic and physically active class that will build strength and flexibility in both your body and your mind.

Lunch Flow

This class is for you whether you’re on your lunch break from work or not. We’ll keep it short at 45 minutes, but very sweet in that it will be just the pick-me-up you need to keep your energy going in the right direction for the rest of your day. Vinyasa is the name of the game here, and we’ll be keeping it on the extra snappy-paced side to give you that energy BOOST!

Yin

Yin is a passive practice, but not to be confused with a more gentle or restorative practice. According to Sarah Powers, Yin’s three Tattvas, or principles include: 1. Come into the pose to an appropriate depth; 2. Resolve to remain still; 3. Hold the pose for time. In this class, we’ll hold poses for some time (typically 3-5 minutes) and practice releasing muscle engagement in order to let the connective tissues open up. Yin is a deeply meditative practice that allows us to practice stillness not just in the body, but in the mind.

Meet the Owner

 at Yoga with Deanna

The first time Deanna practiced Yoga in a studio, she knew her life was forever changed in the best of ways. It was a dreamy haze of love at first practice, and all she knew was that she needed to learn as much as she could about what Yoga has to offer. Deanna completed her 200 hour teaching certification in 2012 from Yogawood Studio in Collingswood, and studied under the guidance of the incomparable Beth Filla. Years later, her love for Yoga has only deepened, her knowledge has expanded with each breath, and she continues to learn through every practice she takes part of whether she is the teacher or the student.

Deanna offers practices that aim to leave her students feeling both grounded and lifted after taking class, and hopes that her students can take that feeling with them off the mat.
